As COVID-19 increased the popularity of telemedicine for a wide variety of uses, this review, published in 2021, intended to gather data on the use of telemedicine specifically as a weight loss intervention.

Overall, the review found that telemedicine interventions can lead to clinically meaningful weight loss. In addition, telemedicine for weight intervention is an especially popular choice among patients.
