Servings: 5
Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
• 1 cup plain greek yogurt
• 4 cups frozen strawberries (or other fruit)
• 3-4 Tbsp pure maple syrup (depending on desired sweetness)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
You could also substitute the maple syrup for honey. Local honey is a good source of antioxidants and might be shown to reduce the risk of heart disease. Honey is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and has antifungal properties. Learn more about that here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements-honey/art-20363819
Directions:
1. Add the plain greek yogurt, frozen strawberries (or other frozen fruit), maple syrup, and vanilla extract to your food processor.
2. Pulse and blend until a thick “froyo” texture is formed. This can take a couple minutes, and you may need to push the mixture down occasionally. Adjust sweetness (maple syrup) to taste.
3. Serve and enjoy right away for a more soft-serve like texture. Alternatively, transfer to a loaf pan and pop it in the freezer for about 30 minutes if you want it a little more firm!
