INGREDIENTS
- 8 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 sweet onion, chopped
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon old bay seasoning
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 pounds fresh shrimp
- 1 can Upside Dawn Athletic Brew Beer
- 1/4 cup water
- 3-4 slices sourdough bread, toasted or grilled
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat a large cast iron pan over medium heat. Add the butter to the pan to melt, as it begins to brown add the chopped onion. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until the onions are translucent. Add the garlic and cook an additional minute.
- To the onion and garlic mixture, add the old bay, red pepper flakes and salt. Stir to combine. Add the shrimp to the pan and toss everything to coat.
- Pour the beer and water over the shrimp. Cook, stirring and tossing for 3-5 minutes until the shrimp are bright pink and cooked through. Turn the heat off. Allow the shrimp to rest in the broth for 10 minutes to soak up the flavor.
- When ready to serve, toast or grill your bread for dipping.
