Getting enough physical activity is an important part of your overall health. What you eat before you exercise matters, too!
The list below will guide you as you start increasing your activity:
- Before you exercise, eat some protein or some whole grain foods. Try apples and peanut butter, a yogurt with berries, or whole wheat toast with peanut butter. Try to stay away from processed or sugary foods.
- After exercising, choose trail mix, yogurt, walnuts, almonds, fruit, oatmeal, berries, protein shakes, or a banana. Anything that has high nutritional value will help your body recover and get stronger.
- Be mindful not to take in more calories than the number of calories you are burning. Find other ways to burn calories throughout the day.
TIP: Pick out some healthy foods to try after your next work out!
