Why should you weigh yourself the same way each day?
It’s important to develop a consistent weigh-in routine to help you get the most accurate weight reading each time you step on the scale.
Below are the 4 “Sames” to weighing yourself.
1) Same time of day
It’s important to weigh yourself at the same time every day to reduce fluctuations in your reading caused by drinking, eating, or other factors. Ideally, you should weigh yourself in the morning after going to the bathroom and before getting dressed for the day.
2) Same (or no) clothing
Your clothing can add as much as 2.5 pounds to your weight. Wearing the same clothes each time you step on the scale can help improve the accuracy of your reading. Even better, you can weigh yourself in the morning without clothes before you get dressed for the day.
3) Same scale
Weighing yourself on the same scale each time will help minimize weight fluctuations caused by technology differences or errors. Make sure that your scale is calibrated properly as well to get the most accurate reading.
4) Same location
Whether you weigh yourself in the bathroom, bedroom, or elsewhere, try not to move your scale very often as this can affect its calibration and accuracy. Be sure to place your scale on a flat, hard surface as carpeted or cushioned surfaces can lead to variations in weight.
With these four steps, you can ensure that you get the most accurate weight reading every time.
These steps can also serve as helpful cues to remind you to weigh in each day. Research show that one of the best ways to achieve your weight loss goals is to weigh in every day.

Remember that the number on the scale isn’t the only measure of good health. It’s important to practice a variety of healthy lifestyle choices to achieve your happiest and healthiest self.
